Some Notable Firsts During Skyler's First Two Weeks
Before we forget, we wanted to note down some of the amazing "firsts" during Skyler's first two weeks:
1. First time nursing -- right after birth (such a quick learner!)
2. First time discovered fingers -- He used his fingers to soothe himself on the first night and has been sucking fingers and thumb ever since.
3. First car ride -- Home from the hospital on Sunday evening (Jan. 22). He could barely fit in his car seat -- we got a new infant carrier that seems to work much better now. We'll save the bigger car seat for when the baby gets bigger!
4. First outing -- Went to see Dr. Savage on Wednesday and then over to the hospital for a repeat PKU test. Skyler slept the whole time -- what a good boy! No jaundice found and retest went well -- we had to repeat the test again though this week (Tuesday).
5. Longest trip so far in the car -- We drove up to West Palm Beach to take Daddy to the doctor's for his foot. Skyler slept again in the car -- little angel!
6. First outing in the stroller -- Saturday afternoon, Mom and Dad walked Skyler around the block in his new stroller (which by the way is the Rolls Royce of strollers -- given to the baby by his maternal aunts and uncles on the Stumpfl side!)
7. First time rolling over -- Boy this baby is advanced -- Skyler likes to roll from back to side and front to back and did it completely last Saturday for the first time. Mommy has to watch him like a hawk!
8. Skyler's first trip downtown -- We went to see the John Lennon exhibit in downtown Delray (very cool but too much Yoko influenced).
9. First binky -- Mommy threw in the towel and relented by giving Skyler his first pacifier on Wednesday night (Feb. 1). He slept more soundly and coincidentally, mom and dad did too ;)
9. Sky's First Groundhog's Day -- Punxatawny Phil saw his shadow giving us six more weeks of winter (not really a problem when it's 80 degrees out -- we'll take it!)
Upcoming events:
Skyler's First Super Bowl
Skyler's First Party
Skyler's First Class (Infant CPR)
